Downtown Mount Vernon celebrated an Old-Fashioned Christmas Sunday afternoon and the American Heritage Girls Troop 0377 set the tone in the annual parade with their costumes representing a time when living was simple and people embraced the importance of the message of Christmas over the commercialization.

The Foodstock event raised money and collected food items for Food for the Hungry.

Sgt. Pepper joins Foodstock

American society loves to celebrate anniversaries. In that tradition, the theme for this year’s Chautauqua Series Foodstock Concert is a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the release of the Beatles landmark album, “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” with a tribute to the music of The Beatles.
