MOUNT VERNON — Organizations wishing to apply for funding from the Youth Philanthropy Initiative, in any amount up to $2,000, may apply through Monday, Jan. 8, 2018. Grants are awarded for projects intended to address the needs of Knox County Youth, from 0 to 18.

New this year, the Youth Philanthropy Initiative also invites Knox County schools to submit applications for student-led charitable projects. One project per school will be chosen to receive up to $500 for a unique, creative philanthropic project. Projects must be completed before Dec. 31, 2018.

The application can be downloaded in PDF format under the “Youth Philanthropy Initiative” tab on Foundation’s website: http://mvkcfoundation.org/.

The Youth Philanthropy Initiative is comprised of students representing all Knox County High Schools, who are dedicated to learning the skills associated with operating and funding non-profit organizations. Its grant making efforts are completely student-driven and distinct from the unrestricted grant program of the Community Foundation of Mount Vernon & Knox County.

For additional information about the YPI grant program, contact Lisa Lloyd, Program Manager, Community Foundation of Mount Vernon & Knox County at 740-326-4297 or by email at lisalloyd@mvkcfoundation.org.
