MOUNT VERNON — Food with foreign origins was front and center Nov. 20 when the Mount Vernon High School Spanish, French and Latin clubs sponsored their second annual International Food Contest.

The challenge was to prepare an authentic, typical dish from another country in a choice of categories — appetizer, main dish, salad, side dish or dessert. Judges evaluated each dish based on the presentation, taste and authenticity.
