HENDERSONVILLE, Tennessee — Darby Sue Vasbinder, 50, passed away in her home in Hendersonville, Tennessee, on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017.
Darby was born in Mount Vernon on Feb. 19, 1967, and graduated from Mount High School in 1985. She attended Otterbein University and Franklin University, and received her bachelor’s degree in marketing from Franklin is 1994. She worked in Columbus, Los Angeles and Mount Vernon. She had been a resident of Hendersonville for one year.
Darby made many friends wherever she went. She was an avid Buckeyes fan and loved watching the games with her friends, spending time with her furry kids, guinea pigs, Scarlet and Gray, and her partner, Brian.
Darby is survived by her mother, Dotti Vasbinder Riggs; her father, Dave Vasbinder; sister, Dina (Brad) Snow; her cherished nieces Braelyn and Brianna Snow; uncles, Doug Rupp and Tom Vasbinder; aunts, Jeanne Rupp and Florence Vasbinder; six cousins; and her partner, Brian McDonough, and his son, Cole.
She was predeceased by her maternal and paternal grandparents, and aunt and two uncles.
Darby will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene, 807 Coshocton Ave., Mount Vernon, on Friday, Dec. 22, at 6 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to The Freedom Center of Mount Vernon or to New Directions, the Domestic Abuse Shelter and Rape Crisis Center of Knox County (an agency for which her mother has volunteered for many years), or to a charity of one’s choice.
