“I’d be perfectly happy if it’s the last thing I do. This is something to remember.”

ALLIANCE — Out of thousands, Andy Rieman will be the first.

In all the years that there has been an NCAA all-star game, no one from Knox County had ever been invited. Until now.

Rieman, a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and currently a senior at Mount Union, has been invited to participate in this season’s NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in January.

“Things have been absolutely crazy,” Rieman told the News. “Coming from a Division III school, you don’t think in terms like this. I never really thought that it was tangible.”

The game will be played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, on January 20, 2018. It will be telecast by cable station FS1.
