COLUMBUS — Some post-season awards come as a complete surprise. Then there is this season.

Northmor senior quarterback Demetrius Johnson, who overwhelmed opponents for over 2,500 rushing yards for the season, was named the Division VI Central District Offensive Player of the Year, and his first-year head coach, Scott Armrose, who lifted the team from a 1-9 record last season to the playoffs for the very first time this season, was selected as the Coach of the Year, each by a vote of media representatives.

But they weren’t the only ones to earn top honors in the district, as senior defensive lineman Marshall Stull of Region 27 semifinalist Danville was named Defensive Player of the Year in Division VII.
