DANVILLE — Six years ago, the Danville Blue Devils suffered one of their most devastating losses ever when they fell in the regional quarterfinals to Bishop Rosecrans.

The Bishops, playing in just their fourth regional game in history, shocked the host Blue Devils with a decisive 34-7 victory — their first ever playoff win.

The rosters have changed. The attitudes have not. The teams will meet again Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the first round of the Division VII playoffs.

Danville (9-1) has been to the playoffs every year since. The Devils failed to reach the second round just one other time when, as an eighth seed, they fell to undefeated Shadyside, 27-24.
