MOUNT VERNON — Set aside your smoothies and iced coffees, because autumn is here. With the changing season comes a whole new set of hot, spiced beverages.

According to Rachel Miller, one of the owners of the North Main Cafe, 108 N. Main St., Mount Vernon, popular fall beverage flavors, such as pumpkin, cinnamon, chai, hazelnut and vanilla, are hitting Knox County like a storm.

Since the opening of the cafe this past summer, Miller and her crew have been having tons of fun learning what types of beverages Mount Vernonites enjoy during each passing season.

“It’s funny to see the change in season, because if we have a cold day like this, we fly through espresso,” Miller told the News. “If it’s a little hot, then we’ll go through smoothies and frappes. You just never really know what to expect, so I kind of have a lot of everything.”
