UTICA — A funeral service for Heather Renee Sherman, 45, of Utica, will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, at Spring Hills Baptist Church, 1820 Newark Granville Rd., Granville, with Pastor Tom Pound officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark.

Heather passed away Oct. 8, 2017, at her residence. She was born Feb. 12, 1972, in Newark to Thomas Richard and Norma Ruth (Burrier) Dawson.

Heather was a member of Spring Hills Baptist Church, where she enjoyed playing keyboard with the praise team. She was loved by everyone she met; a loving wife, mother, nana, daughter, sister and friend. She was known for being fearless and having a bright and compassionate spirit.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Vincent Dean Sherman; children, Dustin (Zach Swinehart) Sherman of Columbus, Allegra (Joshua Taylor) Sherman of Utica, Amber (Colton Pelton) Sherman of Danville and Luke Sherman of Utica; sister, Lisa (Patrick) Stalling of Salem; and grandchildren, Jayden, Hayden, Wyatt, and Gracelynn.
