CENTERBURG — Student achievement was applauded during Monday’s meeting of the Centerburg Board of Education.

As proud family members looked on, John Campbell received his high school diploma from board president Roger Clark. High school principal Ryan Gallwitz praised Campbell, saying, “He never gave up and he finished strong.”

Campbell, who worked hard in credit recovery classes, would advise other struggling students to keep on trying.

“I knew I had brains,” he said. “You have brains and you just have to stick with it.”
