MANSFIELD — A public forum on the future of Mohican-Memorial State Forest will be held on Tuesday, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Community Room at the Mansfield Main Library, 43 W. Third St., Mansfield.

The forum will be moderated by Tom Brennan, former News Journal editor. Panelists include Annette McCormick of the Mohican Ad Hoc Council, Cheryl Harner of the Richland County Park District, and Eric Miller of the North Central Ohio Land Conservancy. Officials from the Division of Forestry have declined the invitation to speak, but their position will be represented.

During the forum, panelists will review the key provisions of the Division of Forestry’s proposed changes to the Mohican-Memorial State Forest management plan, assess the impact the changes would have on the forest and our local economy, and allow the public an opportunity to ask questions and share their comments.

This forum is free and open to the public. For more details, call the North Central Ohio Land Conservancy at 419-522-6262.
