MOUNT VERNON — America’s Civil War will be the topic at the Wednesday meeting of the Knox County Historical Society, which begins at 7:30 p.m. at the museum, 875 Harcourt Road.

For more than 20 years as a social studies teacher, Robert Geiger has been offering an elective class in the history of the American Civil War at the Knox County Career Center. His class activities have included trips to the battlefields at Gettysburg and Antietam, class visits by area military re-enactors and a special student project to compile a database of Civil War veterans buried in Knox County.

The program is free and open to the public, and all persons interested in area history are invited to attend. For more information, contact the museum at 740-393-5247 or visit the website at www.knoxhistory.org.
