Dramatic events in Russia dominated the news in the middle of September 1917.
On Sept. 10, a story appeared in the Banner that Gen. Korniloff, commander of the Russian armies, was pushing a plan to replace the government with a five-man governing council, presumably with himself at the head, to “save the country.”
