MOUNT VERNON — Some of the inhabitants of Mound View Cemetery will come to life Sunday afternoon, but not before their “ghosts” rehearsed on Thursday what they will tell visitors.

The “ghosts” are local volunteer actors who will portray some of the noted persons buried at the cemetery.

This year, said organizer Susan Kahrl, they will concentrate on some of the early figures in the development of Mount Vernon. They will also show how many of the families in those days were connected by marriages. Plus, there will be some special attention to the mound that gives the cemetery its name, and to the history of the stone chapel.
