HOWARD — Sally Simpson and Stephanie Warner met on the court after Tuesday’s volleyball match between Centerburg and East Knox. Their meeting went a bit longer than usual.

After all, they aren’t just coaching rivals. They were also rivals on the court.

Simpson, a Centerburg grad, and Warner, from East Knox, played against each other years ago in the old Mid-Buckeye Conference. Now, as the coaches of their respective alma maters, they’re facing off once again in the Knox-Morrow Athletic Conference.

“It’s always fun to see people we used to play with,” Warner said.

Simpson had every reason to smile after Tuesday’s match. Centerburg dominated most of the match at East Knox’s gym to come away with a 25-12, 23-25, 25-14, 25-13 victory.
