Sarah Poole/News Brent Lasater of Lasater Funeral Home has been working as a funeral director in Ohio for the past 20 years. In order to become a funeral director, Lasater attended mortuary college and received state and national licenses.

MOUNT VERNON — Death is a part of life; because of this painful fact, the job of a funeral director has become a complex, demanding and vital position, needed in every community. They help us through some of our toughest moments of grief and treat our deceased loved ones with care and respect as we say our temporal good-byes.

Brent Lasater of Lasater Funeral Home, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road, has been working as a funeral director in Ohio for 20 years.

While working on an emergency squad as a young adult, Lasater gained a lot of experience with local funeral homes and grief counseling, which eventually inspired him to choose a career in funeral directing.
