MOUNT VERNON — Today, the Aldi at 1545 Coshocton Ave. in Mount Vernon re-opened its doors after being closed since July for remodeling. The closure was due to “the company’s nationwide plan to expand more than 1,300 US stores by 2020,” according to a recent press release sent out by the Aldi company. Twenty-one of those stores are located in and around Columbus, including the local store.

“With this significant investment in our U.S. stores, including those in the Columbus area, what we’re really doing is continuing to invest in Aldi customers — bringing people who know and love Aldi, as well as new fans, an even better, more welcoming store to shop,” said Aldi Springfield Division Vice President Sarah Brown.
