Joshua Morrison/News Members of The Hive sort and fold items donated for victims of Hurricane Harvey in southern Texas. The Hive is accepting donations this week, with the first load heading to Texas today.

MOUNT VERNON — The first truckload of supplies from The Hive, heading to Texas to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey, will pull out of Mount Vernon this afternoon.

Frank Kroninger and Amber Murphy headed the operation, helping to pack and load supplies, as well as drive them down to shelters in and near Texas.

The donation collection was “something me and [Amber] really feel is necessary,” Kroninger told the News Wednesday.
