MOUNT VERNON — Playing with one of the top golfers in the state, and competing against 22 of the top golf teams in Ohio, no one would blame Brandon Main for feeling intimidated.

Instead, he relished the role.

The lone representative from Fredericktown scored a 1-over 73 at Friday’s annual Chapel Hill Invitational, sponsored by Mount Vernon High School. The score put Brandon in a tie for 12th among 108 golfers — most of whom were from top Division I schools.
