MOUNT VERNON — The final Summer Music Garden concert will be held on Sunday, Aug. 20, from 4-6 p.m., in the Children’s Garden behind the Knox County Career Center.

The featured performer is the Hal Walker Trio. Hal is a musical breath of fresh air. Known as a singer, a songwriter and a “musical explorer,” Hal was voted Cleveland’s “Best Musician” by readers of Scene Magazine for two years in a row. His soaring baritone voice is an Ohio treasure. His songs celebrate community, diversity and the state of Ohio.

His newest CD, Life Wonderful, features his trio and numerous unique musical instruments, like the melodious khaen of Thailand and the banakulas of West Africa.

During intermission, SPI, where Science and Play Intersect, will present an activity about the upcoming eclipse.
