Bill Davis/News Utica’s David Haines watches his tee shot on the 11th hole at Clover Valley Golf Course during Wednesday’s Licking County League tournament.

JOHNSTOWN — The day didn’t exactly go as Jeremy Krausz had planned.

Utica’s golf coach watched as, one by one, his Redskin golfers brought in their scorecards — each one more difficult to read than the last.

“It was little things,” Krausz said. “We did have two scores in the 80s and two in the low 90s. But, it’s cleaning up some putting and some chipping. With the season starting so quickly, we haven’t really had a chance to practice these things.”

Utica finished sixth as a team in Wednesday’s second Licking County League tournament, held at Clover Valley Golf Course in Johnstown. The Redskins put up a score of 359, just behind Newark Catholic at 354. Utica was paced by Max Lepley’s 86, followed by Brett Bousquet’s 87.
