APPLE VALLEY — The newest team in the Knox-Morrow Athletic Conference made an impact in the league’s first ever meeting.

The East Knox golf team finished fourth out of the seven teams that participated at Apple Valley Golf Course on Monday. The Bulldogs’ top player, Drew Salyers, easily earned medalist honors by carding a 4-under 68 on the day.

“I hit the ball really good today,” Salyers said after his round. “I still missed some putts that I could have made.”

Salyers played in a foursome, which ultimately consisted of the top 4 players on the day. His closest competition was Mount Gilead’s Jason Bolka, who shot 8-over 80. Fredericktown’s Brandon Main was third with an 81, followed by Hayes Bentley of Northmor at 82.
