Joshua Morrison/News A transformer blew in downtown Mount Vernon on Tuesday afternoon, knocking out power to the east side of Main Street, between Vine Street and Ohio Avenue. The outage knocked out traffic lights at two intersections, turning them into four-way stops. American Electric Power worked on the problem at Blackberry Alley and Vine Street and power was restored by 4 p.m.
