MOUNT VERNON — In their first tournament game, the Mount Vernon 10-under All-Stars Orange players could do no wrong.

In Game 2, nothing went right.

Mount Vernon Orange ran into a buzzsaw Tuesday. Cambridge White came into their District 5 game at Phillips Park ready to play, and the team dominated, 18-1, to hand Mount Vernon Orange its first loss of the tournament.

“We’re going to learn from today,” Mount Vernon Orange head coach Jeff Morrison said. “Be prepared in the infield. It’s all about fundamentals, being down and ready, fielding the ball and knowing where to throw.”
