MOUNT VERNON — If you have a child who will be playing sports in the fall and he or she still needs to get a physical exam, you are in luck. The Knox County Community Health Center will host two special sports physical clinics on Tuesday and Thursday.

The sports physical clinics will be conducted on a walk-in basis on Tuesday from 1-4 p.m. and on Thursday from 4-6 p.m. No appointment is necessary. The health center is located inside the Knox County Health Department, 11660 Upper Gilchrist Road.

Doctor Larry Reed and Nurse Practitioner Jackie Neighbarger will conduct the physical exams.

There is a fee for the exam. The health center accepts cash, checks and debit/credit cards for payment. Due to the discounted cost, insurance or Medicare will not be accepted as payment during these special clinics.

Students need to bring necessary paperwork provided by the school sports program. Students are also encouraged to bring their immunization records. If students are not accompanied by a parent, they should have their paperwork signed by a parent prior to attending the clinic.

For more information, contact the medical clinic at the health department at 740-399-8008.
