MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon 10-under All-Stars Black team didn’t let a spate of rain dampen their practice Friday.

The players spent the first half-hour at an indoor facility playing Wiffle ball.

To the extreme.

Players — none of whom were in any particular defensive position — dove for fly balls and did their best to get the baserunners out by throwing the ball at them.

They may not have learned much in the way of fundamentals, but it helped them release some energy.
