A loan of county money to Knox 911 should be paid off on schedule, if not before, county officials said Thursday.
Knox County Auditor Jonette Curry said Thursday that the 1 percent, $781,250 loan could be paid in three to four years, approximately three years ahead of a projected five to seven years.

Murder suspect under evaluation

Murder suspect Kevin Remillard was removed from the Knox County Jail to the Twin Valley Behavioral Hospital in Columbus under orders from Behavioral Healthcare Partners.
Knox County Sheriff David Shaffer confirmed that Remillard, 48, Gambier, was transported June 20 from the jail to Twin Valley.

Funds for K-9 a sniff away

The fundraising effort to pay for a police dog for the Mount Vernon Police Department is nearing its goal of $18,000.
Dave Culbertson, whose Arms of an Angel Foundation is conducting the drive, reports $12,231 has been raised and two pledges of $1,000 each have been received.
