MANSFIELD — Drake Pence knew he would win something at the North-Central Ohio All-Star Game on Saturday.

He didn’t know it would be the one named for a legendary Ohio football star.

“I’ve been visualizing this, about getting an award,” Pence said after the game. “It came true.”

Pence, a recent East Knox graduate, was given the Chris Spielman Sportsmanship Award after his South team defeated North, 24-20, at Arlen Stadium in Mansfield.

Pence was among several local players to play for the South team. Others included recent graduates of Danville, Fredericktown, Northmor and Cardington.
