LEXINGTON — Drake Pence’s football career has come full circle.

Pence played his first championship-level football game at Lexington High School in the local pee-wee league championship game. Now, years later, he’s practicing on the same field for the final football game of his high school career.

Pence, from East Knox, is one of several local recent high school grads on the South team roster in Saturday’s North Central Ohio Football Coaches Association All-Star Game.

“I’ve been looking forward to this game since freshman year,” Pence told the News during Thursday’s practice. “I’ve been coming out to this field and imagining what this is like.”

The game is set to kick off at Arlen Stadium in Mansfield at 7 p.m.
