MOUNT VERNON — MTVarts is offering summer visual art camps for kids ages 3-13 years of age. Participants will enjoy the fine arts of drawing, painting and sculpting in an enthusiastic environment with artistic director Bruce Jacklin and staff. Each camp is geared for the appropriate age group. All camps and classes will be held in warehouse14, MTVarts’ newly renovated theater warehouse at 14 E. Ohio Ave.

With the fundamentals each young artist will learn throughout the week, they will have the opportunity to produce numerous works of art which they’ll get to present in an Art Show at the end of their final day of camp. Camps are a one-week event beginning Monday through Friday from 10-11:30 a.m. There will be two camps offered, June 12 through 16 for ages 6-8 and July 24 through 28 for ages 9-13.

A preschool/kindergarten class, Pretend and Paint, will be offered as a one-day event. Choose July 10, 11 or 12. Time is 10 a.m. until 11:30. Children are encouraged to dance, sing, pretend and paint from their imaginations. When you combine a child’s natural energy with colorful paints, the results can be amazing. This is a preschool/kindergarten one day event where children are encourage to dress up, to dance and hear a short story about a famous artist. Children will create a painting that expresses their experience from the morning.

All supplies are included in the cost.
