Bill Davis/News Danville senior Makayla Rolince is set to participate in the Division III 200-meter sprint at the OHSAA State Track and Field Championships in Columbus on Friday.

DANVILLE — For Danville senior Makayla Rolince, perhaps the toughest decision was to figure out what not to do.

With an opportunity to excel in more than one sport and in more than one track event, specializing was the toughest decision of all. Her final choice was a good one.

On Friday, Rolince will line up for the 200 meter dash with the very best in Ohio at the OHSAA State Track and Field Championships at Ohio State University’s Jesse Owens Stadium in Columbus.

Rolince, a junior, is in her second time around at the state meet and knows what to expect. The crowd isn’t going to intimidate her.

“I just kind of shut the crowd out,” Rolince said “I just focus on myself and what I need to do. I just run.”

The competition isn’t going to intimidate her, either.
