MOUNT VERNON — Twelve years ago, in March 2005, pupils from West Side and Elmwood elementary schools came together to form the student body at the newly opened Twin Oak Elementary. The incoming kindergartners left their mark on the new school by placing their handprints (in blue) on the wall in Heidi Craigo’s kindergarten room, and signed the results.
