Mothers, sons enjoy special dance

On Saturday evening, a long line of well-dressed ladies and their sons waited outside a large brick building, booming with pop-dance music. No, a new fancy club didn’t just open in Mount Vernon; it was the premier of the first annual Mother-Son Dance held at Ariel-Foundation Park’s Community Foundation Pavilion.

MVMS wraps up softball season

The Mount Vernon Middle School softball teams are the feeder teams to the high schools, and with the success of both teams this season, it looks as if the Yellow Jackets’ already championship-level high school team is set for many years to come.
