East Knox FFA 9th in state Agronomy CDE

East Knox FFA competed in the state Agronomy Career Development Event on March 25 at The Ohio Expo Center in Columbus where they placed ninth out of 34 teams from across the state.
Team members were seniors Rebecca McCarty and Connor Wolford and sophomores Maddie Rine, Jacob McCarty and Sean Magers.

DMS Mock Trial team outstanding at state

The Revolutionary War and British law were involved in the 2017 Ohio School Mock Trial Showcase, and the Danville Middle School Mock Trial team earned an outstanding rating for its performance on March 30, missing a superior by just three points. Kaitlynn Banbury was also named Outstanding Attorney.
The Mock Trial case was based on the historical fiction novel “Johnny Tremain.” In the book, Johnny is a revolutionary-era teenager who is charged with treason by the British for helping to spread anti-British sentiment.

Wayne Noggle was honored Monday by the Mount Vernon Board of Education and recognized as Mount Vernon High School’s “Behind the Scenes” awardee.
High School principal Scott Will told the News, “Wayne has been an active parent volunteer within our Vocational Agriculture/FFA Chapter.

Snively returns home as Danville superintendent

Danville native Jason Snively, the new superintendent of Danville Local Schools starting Aug. 1, is currently the high school principal at Hillsboro City Schools where he previously served as assistant middle school principal and then middle school principal. Before that, he taught vocational agriculture at Felicity-Franklin.
