MOUNT VERNON — When they were in the 11-year-old Ohio Little League state tournament, Mount Vernon’s Jacob Tiell and Tim Zeller each hit a home run in the same game.
Six years later, they did it again.
The good friends each belted a homer over the left field fence at home against Wooster on Wednesday. It ended up making a difference as the Yellow Jackets survived a wild 12-11 win.
“It kind of just happened,” Zeller said. “It’s kind of deja vú, to hit your first home run, then what may be your last home run, with the same guy. It’s something to remember.”
