DANVILLE — Shanna Mickley is the first to tell you that it takes a team effort to win.

The Danville senior’s efforts on Monday, however, were in a class by themselves.

Mickley pitched a two-hit shutout against the Mid-Buckeye Conference rival Loudonville Redbirds at home. As if that wasn’t enough, she smacked a pair of solo home runs in the Blue Devils’ 7-0 home victory.

Mickley didn’t say which one she liked better — her offense or her defense.

“I like seeing what we have, so that other teams know that we have all-around good players on offense and defense,” Mickley said.
