FREDERICKTOWN — When the season started, the Fredericktown baseball team was wound up tight.

In a matter of weeks, they’re footloose and fancy free — not to mention winning.

It’s reflected perfectly in pitcher Trace Hatfield, when he stepped off the mound after the seventh inning in Friday’s game against Highland.

“I like pizza,” he proclaimed.

Hatfield can have all the pizza he wants after Friday’s complete game performance. He gave up three hits and walked none while striking out seven in Fredericktown’s 6-2 victory over Highland.
