HOWARD — Utica is experiencing a youth movement.

Two of the top three batters in the Redskin softball lineup, Taylor Heckman and Scarlett Elliott, are freshmen. That pair combined for eight hits — including four doubles — and scored eight times in Saturday’s doubleheader at East Knox. Utica won both games, 10-1 and 10-5, to move to 5-0 on the young season.

The Redskins have scored in double digits every game this season.
