FREDERICKTOWN — The membership of the Fredericktown Community Fire District Fire Board will be almost entirely new at its April meeting.

The fire board, previously composed of appointed representatives, will be entirely composed of township trustees, as well as representation from the Village of Fredericktown.

The change will bring the composition of the fire board into compliance with the Ohio Revised Code. FCFD Chief Scott Mast said it was recently discovered that the ORC requires the fire board to consist of township trustees, not representatives appointed by trustees. Previously, township trustees have appointed non-trustees to sit on the fire board, Mast said.
