MOUNT VERNON — The traffic light at Commerce Drive and Ohio 13 is still not operating because an electric meter has not arrived from American Electric Power.

City Engineer Brian Ball said the control box for the signal was installed a couple weeks ago, but they haven’t been able to get an answer from AEP about delivery of the meter. The contractor for the project, Greenwich, is in town working on the Sandusky Avenue/High Street intersection so they will be here to install it whenever the meter arrives.

Once installed, the light will be on flash for 10 days before it becomes operational. It will primarily operate at peak flow times when vehicles are leaving the Industrial Park.
