MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Health Department is unveiling a new health center next month to serve local families and patients in need of medical, dental, mental health/behavoral, and addiction care. The health center will be called the Knox Community Health Center and will be located at the health department, 11660 Upper Gilchrist Road.

The center is funded by a two-year, $1.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Because of this funding, and its status as a Federally Qualified Health Center, it will be able to take in all patients regardless of their financial situation and health care standing.
