GRANVILLE — Many times this season, the Highland Scots have been behind, only to rise to the occasion and pull out something amazing.

On Monday, they ran out of steam. And out of miracles.

The Highland boys basketball team missed shots as well as rebounds, allowing the Granville Aces to execute their game plan to near perfection. Highland’s season ended in Monday’s 45-33 loss in the Division II sectional semifinals at Granville High School.

“We just didn’t execute,” Highland head coach Chris Powell said simply. “We spent a lot of time in practice working on what we saw on film. … I thought we got some good looks early. Some of them went down. But, it’s been the story of our season.”
