HOWARD — For the second time this season, Danville and East Knox played a game that won’t be soon forgotten.

After an East Knox comeback victory several weeks ago, the two boys basketball teams played again Tuesday in a game that wasn’t decided until the final shot.

The Bulldogs came out strong and held off the ferocious Blue Devils, 46-45, to pull off a season sweep in front of a raucous crowd in The Dog Pound at East Knox High School.

Last month, the Bulldogs won a wild 66-50 affair, marked by a pair of key technical fouls that helped swing the game in their favor. Although the Blue Devils incurred a technical in the start of the second quarter and another to start the fourth quarter, they kept fighting back again and again.

“This rivalry is big around here,” said East Knox coach Jeremy Hubbard. “It’s different and it’s special. We expected a game like this and we prepared for it.”
