MOUNT VERNON — Third grade pupils at Twin Oak elementary school have gotten real world experience in economics. They took part in the school’s Holiday Shop in December, then had the task in January of deciding what to do with the money they raised.

Teacher Mandy Peterson said one of the first steps in the process was deciding what items to make for the
holiday bazaar, so they reviewed sales data and graphs from previous years to see which items were the best sellers. The budding young entrepreneurs decided to make and sell soap, hot chocolate reindeer and key chains.
