MOUNT VERNON — Kevin Henthorne will be this month’s guest at the Mount Vernon Aglow on Monday, at 6:30 p.m., at the Covenant Church’s multipurpose building, 13360 New Delaware Road, Mount Vernon.
Have fun and equip yourself with some knowledge on how to defend yourself in case you ever find yourself in an unwanted situation.
Henthorne was born and raised in Knox County and graduated from East Knox in 1988. He has been married to his wife, Becky, for 27 years and has two boys.
He has had 24 years of martial arts training, not limited to kick boxing and Jiu Jitsu. Among other things, he has been through the Ohio Police Officer Training Academy. He has been an Auxiliary Police Officer for the Village of Danville for 16 years. For the last 12 years, he has been the executive director of The Knox County Veterans Service Office.
Henthorne enjoys training others on how to be safe and alert. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes because what better way to learn something then by learning with hands-on training.
This is not a come and sit lecture on what to do and what not to do. It is a come and experience type of class.
This class is free and open to the public.
