MOUNT VERNON — City Council Monday unanimously passed, as an emergency measure, the resolution authorizing the safety-service director to contract with E.P. Ferris and Associates Inc. for engineering design services related to the Coshocton Avenue/Vernedale Drive/Kroger intersection improvement project.

City Engineer Brian Ball explained that if they can get the design done soon, then the city should be able to get the permits necessary to work in the creek channel so the project can begin in the fall.
