MOUNT VERNON — A Columbus man charged with trafficking in heroin is being held on a parole violation after posting a $100,000 bond.

Sabian D. Chatman, 35, posted bond in Mount Vernon Municipal Court Dec. 19, 2016, on a second-degree felony charge of trafficking in heroin. However, Chatman is being held at the Knox County Jail on a parole hold, and was not released on the bond.

The bond company has filed to have the bond money returned, according to Knox County Prosecuting Attorney Chip McConville. McConville said the courts are “working to expedite” the bond company’s request.
