The bidding sometimes got fast and furious Saturday during the annual Oldtime Farming Festival pie auction. Auctioneer Steve Jagger cajoled, encouraged and sometimes pleaded with the audience to contribute as much as possible to the worthy cause of supporting the festival and the Centerburg community. Bidders stepped up to the plate, spending a total of $22,375 for 25 beautifully presented pies with other items such as afghans, benches, gift cards and arts and craft items.
