Virgil Shipley/News Homer Fire Department firefighter Darrell Davidson sprayed water on this burning AEP pole Monday afternoon at 3715 Rangeline Road. A grass fire along the edge of the road set the pole on fire and burned off a cable. Homer Fire Chief Randy King said the cause is unknown. The fire was turned over to Utica because the east side of Rangeline road is in their district. The Utica department did not have the name of the property owner. AEP was called to check on the condition of the pole.
