HOWARD — The East Knox Bulldogs took a very big step on Tuesday night, despite coming out on the losing end of a 40-33 score to the visiting Northridge Vikings in area nonconference basketball.

The Bulldogs managed to stay within one or two baskets of the lead, nearly matching the Vikings in rebounds in the opening half. Even more incredible is that the Bulldogs were heavily outrebounded in the second half and still kept it close. The Bulldogs had only 24 rebounds with 10 of them coming in the second half. By comparison, the Vikings had 41. Northridge forward Phalen Huhn led all rebounders with 16 as she led all scorers with 14.
